This is my very last blog post ever. I wish it was the last
thing I had to do this semester, but I still have three exams left and the
historical narrative to write. My last exam, which is biology, is at 12:30 on
Thursday, but depending on whether or not I finish my paper by then, I might
not be leaving here until Friday. There are so many things to do in so little
time, yet it feels like Friday is so far away. At least we will almost have a
month off for our break until next semester starts.

English 1050
I learned a lot from this class, more than I thought I
would. It wasn’t just the usual boring English class like some of my friends
from other colleges describe. In some classes you just write paper after paper,
and that’s all. To me that would be horrible. In our class we really learned a
lot about different kinds of genres of writing and it was really helpful.
Knowing about these types of genres will be helpful in the future. It was never
boring and each day of class was different. I think the class was well worth it
and I will always remember this class from my first semester of college.

weekend
I had a great weekend; I went to both hockey games and
western one both games. It was my first time going to WMU hockey game and I had
a lot of fun. They are actually more exciting then I thought they would be. I
hope I can go to more games this year. I also went shopping with my sister, but
then realized that I am broke. I’m going to have to work all winter break,
which I’m not looking forward to that much. At least I will finally have money
again though. I just need to work on saving it..

These next couple weeks are going to be the most stressful
of the whole semester. In two of my classes we have exams next week, and then
finals the week after. I think that is kind of ridiculous and don’t know why
there needs to be an extra exam right before finals. I am also a little
stressed about the final English project. It seems like an interesting and fun project
but I just wish we had a little more time to do it. I guess I will just be
spending a ton of time in the library, working on the project, and studying for
the last couple weeks of the semester. Soo ready for Christmas break!

I went home for the weekend since I didn’t have class Friday
through Monday. I got to see my best friend Cheyenne who I haven’t seen in four
months because she was living in California. It felt like a really long time
that we haven’t seen each other since we would hang out all of the time in high
school. I spent time with her and my other close friends and we all had a good
time together. It was really nice to see her and hopefully she will be able to
come visit me here at Western sometime soon.

Project 3
This week we were assigned project 3. We had to choose an unfamiliar genre of
writing and analyze it. I didn’t know what genre to choose at first, but I though a timeline would be interesting, especially when I could make my own. The
only difficult part is trying to find differences of all kinds of timelines and
things such as their tone, mood, and attitude. Most timelines seem similar to each other, and
don’t really have any specific tones or attitudes since they are just listing
events that happened. But I am starting to figure out as I look at more
examples of timelines that you have to dig a little deeper to find those
differences, which is getting a little easier.
